Overview

 

The engagement is to support a PMO at a large and diverse federal agency. The program provides business management support to the agency’s Information Technology mission and strategic goals. The effort includes several activates to fulfill the PMO program objectives including:

  • Provide analytical, problem solving, technical, and general consulting expertise to the planning, programming and execution of the IT budget process
  • Provide programmatic support at all levels of the organization to drive transformational change, operational and process improvements, and technical efficiency through use of internal or external taxonomies and financial classification structures
  • Provide financial analytical support

Responsibilities

  • Assist with developing short and long range spend plans; preparing analysis for leadership decision support and recommendations, along with maintaining, monitoring and reporting budget information in a variety of formats.
  • Assist with adoption of new taxonomies and classification structures to streamline reporting and increase ease of reporting.
  • Assist in consolidating financial information such as planned expenditures, actual spend reports, historical execution trend analysis, and future projections.
  • Assist with preparing tables and graphs from analysis of data for inclusion in final work products which may be presented orally, in writing, or in the form of narrative or statistically assist with forecasting budgets, analyzing cost projections, financial exhibits and preparing, reviewing, and establishing requirements both current and future.
  • Assist with developing a record of budgetary impacts that audit trail resource decisions between financial positions.

Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 5+ years of total related experience with financial analysis, Government experience preferred
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, and ability to interact effectively with a variety of contacts/relationships, including senior-level managers and technical SMEs
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to coordinate multiple work streams, multi-task and work well under tight deadlines
  • Advanced knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite (specifically Access, Excel and Project) and productivity tools
  • U. S. citizenship required
  • Active DHS HQ badge preferred
