This role is in support of a federal agency to provide Business Intelligence (BI) lifecycle support services for a recently implemented Data Management and Reporting Solution (DMRS). The BI services include all the developed application code and configurations that are used to extend the DMRS tools for dashboards (Qlikview), reports (SSRS), data warehouse (Oracle relational database), Extract/Transform/Load processing (Ab Initio), data extracts and interfaces, and custom web applications (Java, .net). BI services also include the business process integrations (Ab Initio) with partner systems (including an Oracle ERP system).


  • Develop, maintain, and publish Release/Deployment schedules
  • Track code development and releases:
    • Ensure that each DMRS release is planned, scheduled, and controlled in conformance with program developed processes.
    • As new or updated code is being developed and promoted through the various stages of its life-cycle, ensure that all the units of code are identified, tagged, tracked, and controlled.
    • Code repositories (Ab Initio or PVCS) will be used to their fullest capability to manage and version-control the units of code.
    • As code passes SDLC gates, track code and rationalize its release and deployment in relationship to program requirements, quarterly releases, or critical defects.
    • At any given point in time, the Release Manager will be the accountable POC for what code is where in its life-cycle and what the expected release/deployment dates and code bundles may be.
  • Ensure that appropriate planning and testing is conducted related to any configuration changes that need to be made to the underlying software that supports the code.
  • Develop process and procedures to support the Release/Deployment process.
  • Train team members on the Release/Deployment process


  • Proven expertise in developing and maintaining release schedules
  • Proven expertise in designing and implementing code promotion processes, including use and configuration of HP ALM
  • Experience in deploying a mixture of software technologies, some of which are Windows OS-based and which therefore require a more manual style of deployment
  • Experience in integrating complex platforms for code deployment and managing multiple code versions and branches
  • 5-8 years related experience
  • Excellent planning and multitasking skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
  • Evidence of strong collaboration between teammates, clients, and other contractors

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Experience working within a federal government environment
  • Experience in deployment within a data warehousing environment
  • PMP certified


  • Bachelor’s degree

 Clearance Requirement

  • U.S. Citizen, Secret cleared (interim acceptable)
