Overview

BRMi Technology is seeking a Data Analyst to support a large client in the Northern Virginia area.  The selected candidate will  analyze business needs to develop and implement solutions that leverage systems and processes. Work with the business to understand their needs, related to information technology and enhance business process by promoting new functionality. Using working knowledge of the organization’s technology infrastructure and specific software applications, assist the business to implement strategic vision through technology.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze client data, requirements, process, metrics. Lead/coordinate projects related to client data.
  • Strong background in data analysis, SQL programming, Power BI or Databricks.
  • Identify business requirements (e.g., needs, objectives, functions, features, input and output)
  • Analyze, define and document technical design for data, workflow, logical processes, hardware and operating systems environment, interface with other systems, internal and external controls and output
  • Interact with clients to understand and deliver solutions to their data problems/requirements.
  • Demonstrate analytical thinking skill by breaking down complex problems or processes, identifying causes and effect patterns, and analyzing problems to arrive to an appropriate solution.
  • Collaborate with data engineers to extract and analyze data from various sources.
  • Tackle internal projects to improve the quality/integrity of data.
  • Create data visualization's with IBM Cognos Analytics or Power BI.
  • Present findings to internal stakeholders, work with business units to collect data requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor degree in Math, Computer Engineering, Business Administration or relevant Data Analysis experience (minimum 3 years).
  • Expert SQL skills. Experience with data management and analysis.
  • Hands on experience with data analytics, BI development experience in building visual reports and dashboards with Microsoft Power BI, experience connecting to various data sources, importing and transforming data, and understand application security
  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to identify and improve inefficient process.
  • Knowledge of process management & analysis, and ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize changing workloads.
  • Excellent teaming, communication, and time management skills.
  • Ability to develop and apply algorithms to solve real-world data problems.
  • Strong team player, good communicator, able to be client facing when needed.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.

Desired

  • Experience with designing/implementing technical solutions involving SQL, VBA or other programming/scripting/database languages as well as use of automated knowledge/content management tools
  • Experience in a production/operations support environment preferably in the financial industry.
  • Experience in IBM Cognos Analytics, Power BI development, administration, Java programming, SSMS, Azure, Visual Studio
  • Advanced verbal and written communication.
  • Advanced database and presentation software skills
  • Advanced skill identifying and analyzing business requirements and recommending solutions.
  • Experience in project management.
  • Experience in the application of statistical methods, mathematical techniques, forecasting, cost-benefit analysis and related analytical tools.
  • Experience in Teradata data warehouse
