Overview

BRMi Technology is seeking an IT Project Manager to support a large client in the Northern Virginia area. The selected candidate will plan, manage, and execute all project phases from inception through implementation. To develop project plans and deliver solutions on schedule and within budget in support of the System Support organization.

Responsibilities

  • Manages multiple IT projects following SDLC and Agile methodologies
  • Recognize how projects impact cross-organizational initiatives and align with the customer's goals
  • Ability to drive results and minimize scope creep while being flexible in a changing environment
  • Defines, develops and executes project plans including analysis, scope, schedule, testing, cost estimates, and deployment
  • Build and maintain relationships with sponsors, team members, business, management, key stakeholders and/or external contacts (vendors)
  • Works closely with Procurement when necessary to define and understand contracts, including language, scope, pre- and post-award, contract closure, basic legal aspects, and risk management
  • Provides strategic thought leadership during engagements on approaches to overcome impediments to accelerate delivery and skillfully facilitate conflict resolution
  • Secures project resources and ensures optimum utilization of those resources
  • Directs and leads Project Teams by developing and coordinating work plans, schedules, milestones, and deliverables
  • Oversees project progress to ensure documentation and schedules are in compliance with previously agreed requirements and standards
  • Facilitates project team and client meetings covering status and issue resolution
  • Ensures on-time and on-budget delivery of projects through organization, being proactive, and risk mitigation
  • minimizes, and escalates project risks or constraints that would impact quality and deliverables
  • Provide consistent, concise, relevant, reliable and timely information to all internal and external audiences/stakeholders through a variety of media
  • Foster strong spirit of communication and collaboration between teams to align program goals, deliver final products, and ensure leadership transparency to impediments and progress
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management, or related field or the equivalent combination of education, training, or experience
  • 3-5 Years IT Project Management experience
  • Experience managing IT projects following SDLC and Agile methodologies
  • Demonstrates ability to manage multiple technical projects and dependencies across an enterprise IT environment Experience with project management and IT Service Management tools (ex. MS Project, JIRA, ITBM)
  • Demonstrates the ability to manage and maintain relationships with software vendors, sponsors, and stakeholders
  • Experience working in an IT service environment
  • Demonstrated skill in producing desired results and achieving goals and objective

Desired

  • PMP Certification (or commensurate experience managing corporate-wide projects)
  • Experience as a Scrum Master
  • Proficiency with PCs and related software applications (spreadsheet, presentation, and project management applications)
