Overview

BRMi is seeking a Mainframe DevOps Engineer to be responsible for the set-up, support, maintenance, and development of software lifecycle processes for mainframe platform. The goal is to modernize the mainframe processes to a modern CI/CD pipeline methodology. Candidate must have development aptitude to write build and deployment scripts and extensive latitude for independent judgment.

 

Positions are open to US citizens, green card, green card EAD and TN visa only. No third party.

Salary: 90k-116k

Responsibilities

  • Design, code, troubleshoot and support mainframe build and deployment processes.
  • Process modernization of mainframe build and deployment processes.
  • Provide Tier 2 and 3 on-call support for mainframe build and deployment processes.
  • Administration of Software lifecycle tools (eg. ChangeMan ZMF).
  • Identify and recommend process improvements.
  • Document and maintain the mainframe related documentation.
  • Support routine internal and external audits.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Experience managing mainframe z/OS and USS systems, and a working understanding of overall mainframe architecture. Emphasis on identifying manual processes that can be automated.
  • Experience with software lifecycle management in a mainframe environment, with goal to accomplish setting up DevOps and CI/CD methodologies on the mainframe system.
  • Administrator experience with version control, change management and deployment tools such as ChangeMan ZMF and ChangeMan ZMF Client Pack
  • Understanding of CICS, Db2, SQL, SDSF
  • Knowledge of IBM High Level Assembler, IBM Enterprise COBOL, REXX, JCL, ISPF Dialog.
  • Experience developing and building mainframe software.
  • Proficiency in project analysis, functional areas, interoperability between areas, etc. to architect solutions to improve the processes.
  • Ability to understand business problems and determine what aspects of them require optimization.

Desired:

  • Experience in Agile Software Development Methodology.
  • Experience with IBM Dependency Based Build (DBB), IBM UrbanCode Deploy (UCD), IBM IDz (or other Eclipse-based IDE), RocketGit.
  • Coordination of technology decisions with architectural requirements and constraints, including architecting and designing CI/CD pipelines.
  • Understanding of Quality Control and Test Automation.
