Overview

BRMi is seeking a Scrum Master.  The Scrum Master works closely with the Product Owner to prioritize and lead the delivery of the initiative’s capabilities by removing impediments, facilitating team meetings and events, and fostering an environment for high performance. The Scrum Master manages a continuous workflow for the team and advocates for, adopts, and coaches lean, Agile, and Scrum practices.

Participates in projects of increasing complexity under moderate supervision, with some latitude for independent judgment. Demonstrates a basic understanding of business, products, and the operating environment. Addresses general problem-solving needs and leads project teams with moderate complexity and ambiguity. Serves as a career professional within the field; skilled and proficient in the discipline.

Responsibilities

  • Exhibit behaviors of a Lean-Agile leader through mindset; help the team embrace Agile core values, adopt and apply Agile principles, and implement Agile practices
  • Support adherence to Scrum rules, eliminate impediments, and lead the team in efforts toward continuous improvement and increased efficiency
  • Ensure the technology and service delivery roadmap supports the solution strategy and remains sustainable to meet the needs of the solutions being delivered
  • Facilitate the team’s progress toward goals, utilizing current Program Increment (PI) objectives as iteration goals
  • Ensure goals, scope, and product backlog items are clearly understood and can be executed by team members
  • Collaborate with the Product Owner, customers, and developers to identify and clarify the scope of problems/issues in terms of business and system requirements and processes
  • Support the team’s efforts to continuously improve communication and relationships with other delivery teams; represent the team in the Scrum of Scrums (SoS), ensuring awareness of engagement opportunities and program effectiveness
  • Challenge existing development norms to improve performance in quality, predictability, flow, and velocity
  • Support software development teams in applying the Scrum framework
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Basic functional and technical expertise in at least one analytics or business intelligence application or product
  • Significant project management experience, with strong fundamentals in advanced analytics, data integration, and visualization
  • Experience with Agile reporting tools such as Rally, Jira, and Azure DevOps to manage and facilitate team goals
  • Working knowledge of software development and system administration
  • Experience in resource allocation and management
  • Experience leading, guiding, and coaching professional staff
  • Experience leading Agile development teams and facilitating team meetings in an Agile environment
  • Working knowledge of development and/or operations frameworks, including Agile principles
  • Proficiency in database and presentation software
  • Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated ability to build strategic and execution-focused plans and partnerships with leadership

Desired:

  • dvanced degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
  • CSM, PMI-ACP, or PMP certification
  • In-depth knowledge and experience in banking, finance, or investments, including familiarity with relevant terminology, concepts, business processes, and systems
  • Familiarity with industry standards and regulations
