Overview

BRMi is seeking a Senior QA/Test Automation Engineer to support a large financial services client in delivering high-quality, reliable enterprise applications and technology solutions.

 

The successful candidate will perform complex testing activities across moderately to highly integrated systems, including system integration testing (SIT), regression testing, and functional testing. This role is responsible for analyzing requirements, developing comprehensive test coverage, creating and executing manual and automated test cases, managing defects, and ensuring solutions meet established functional and technical requirements.

 

The ideal candidate will have strong experience with Azure DevOps (ADO) Test Plans, Agile/SAFe delivery environments, Behavior-Driven Development (BDD), Gherkin syntax, and test automation. This position will also leverage AI-enabled tools and agents to accelerate test case development, improve coverage, and increase overall testing efficiency.

Salary: 85k-110k

Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and execute complex test plans using Azure DevOps (ADO) Test Plans in accordance with established testing standards and procedures
  • Analyze business, functional, and technical requirements to identify testing requirements, dependencies, risks, and appropriate test coverage
  • Develop comprehensive test scenarios and test cases covering positive, negative, boundary, integration, and end-to-end scenarios
  • Create and maintain manual test cases for functional, system integration, and regression testing
  • Develop automated test cases using Gherkin-based Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) techniques and Given/When/Then syntax
  • Leverage AI-enabled tools and agents to generate, enhance, optimize, and expand test cases and test coverage
  • Execute system integration testing (SIT), regression testing, functional testing, and other testing activities across highly integrated enterprise systems
  • Execute and validate both manual and automated test cases and accurately document testing results
  • Develop, troubleshoot, and maintain automated testing scripts using tools and techniques such as UFT, XPath, data parameterization, and reusable automation components
  • Identify, document, track, and manage software defects throughout the defect lifecycle
  • Perform defect analysis and root cause analysis to help identify underlying application, integration, data, or process issues
  • Partner with developers, business analysts, product owners, and other technical stakeholders to reproduce defects and validate resolutions
  • Perform retesting and regression testing following application changes, defect corrections, and system enhancements
  • Maintain traceability between requirements, test cases, test execution results, and defects
  • Participate in Agile and SAFe ceremonies, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, daily stand-ups, retrospectives, PI Planning, and estimation activities
  • Provide testing estimates and assist with planning testing activities within established sprint and release schedules
  • Identify and communicate testing risks, dependencies, blockers, defects, and overall testing progress to project teams and stakeholders
  • Support continuous improvement of QA processes, automation frameworks, testing methodologies, and overall test coverage
  • Collaborate with development and DevOps teams to support automated testing within CI/CD pipelines
  • Ensure testing activities and documentation comply with established quality assurance, risk, security, and technology standards
  • Develop and maintain clear, complete, and audit-ready testing documentation and supporting artifacts
  • Support production readiness and release validation activities as required
  • Work independently on complex testing assignments with minimal supervision while collaborating effectively across technical and business teams
  • Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience
  • Demonstrated experience performing software quality assurance and testing within complex enterprise technology environments
  • Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps (ADO) Test Plans, including test plan development, test case management, execution, traceability, and defect tracking
  • Strong experience performing functional, regression, system integration, and end-to-end testing
  • Experience developing and executing both manual and automated test cases
  • Hands-on test automation experience, including development, troubleshooting, and maintenance of automated test scripts
  • Experience with UFT or comparable enterprise test automation tools
  • Experience working with XPath, test data parameterization, and reusable automation components
  • Strong proficiency with Gherkin syntax and Behavior-Driven Development (BDD), including development of Given/When/Then test scenarios
  • Experience using AI-enabled tools, agents, or generative AI capabilities to assist with test case creation, enhancement, or test coverage
  • Experience with software defect management, defect lifecycle processes, and root cause analysis
  • Strong understanding of software testing methodologies, testing techniques, and Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC) principles
  • Experience working within Agile and SAFe delivery environments
  • Ability to analyze complex business and technical requirements and translate them into comprehensive testing scenarios
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly communicate defects, risks, blockers, and testing status
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate, complete, and audit-ready testing documentation
